National Tree Day

Tree planting

Mungabareena Reserve

 

10am to midday

Sunday

2nd August 2009 

Join Parklands Rangers in a fun filled day of planting native shrubs and grasses along the Murray River at Mungabareena Reserve.

When: Planting begins at 10am through to 12pm. BBQ to follow.

Where: Mungabareena Reserve (Turn left along dirt road just before entrance to main reserve)

What to bring: Gloves, shovel, mattock and sturdy footwear (some tools provided)

Even if you've never planted a tree before, you will be shown how to plant one on the day!

The Benefits:

·     Restore native vegetation, combat the greenhouse effect.

·     Create habitat for threatened species of native fauna. 

·     Helps to prevent soil erosion.

·     Native trees are also more hardy as they require less water
