IMBY Solar Power Challenge
IMBY Solar Power Challenge As part of this years IMBY Festival, Davy Industries together with parklands conducted a Solar Power Challenge that was open to Primary Schools in the Albury-Wodonga region. Davy Industries donated a 3 volt solar module to the participating schools. The aim of the competition was for schools to create a working example of solar power exhibiting the value of the sun as an environmentally friendly and cost effective source of energy. The projects were innovative Projects should be innovative and where possible, relate either to energy-saving in the back yard or school yard. Uncle Ben’s kindly donated towards the prizes. The competition winners were, Dean White and Ben Haanstra of Lavington Public School, with an imaginative solar-powered Lawn mower, winning the most practical application and and the most innovative application. They were presnted with a 500.00 dollar cheque for their school by Gary Davy, of Davy industries, which provided solar panels for the compition |
