High Country Rail Trail—From tracks to trail

The High Country Rail Trail (formerly the Wodonga-Cudgewa Rail Trail) is steaming ahead with its development. The Wodonga-Cudgewa Rail Trail Advisory Committee received $20,000 funding from NHT for revegetation from the Kiewa River to Sandy Creek Pylons.

This is in addition to other funding from:

  • Parks Victoria: Start Up Grant $500 for Advisory Committee;
  • Parks Victoria: Bonegilla Siding Renovation $3,540;
  • Rancho Holdings PTY Ltd Wodonga: $1,000 donation for fuel costs associated with grading by National Industrial Skills Training Centre; and
  • Crown Land Reserves Improvement Program (CLIP)(DNRE): $55,000 for a bridge over the Kiewa River (recently approved).

The winner of the logo competition for the trail has been announced. The winning entry can be seen on the right.

The Committee regularly holds working bees on weekends along the trail. If you would like to become involved in this exciting project, contact Wayne Carlson at parklands on (02) 60 236714.
