Discover "park magic" during the school holidays

parklands Albury Wodonga has just released its school holidays calendar called “park magic”.  “park magic” is a great opportunity to become familiar with the regional parks by taking part in activities close to where you live, or to explore parks further from home during the school holidays. What better way to learn than in the outdoors, refresh the mind, relax, and entertain the kids … the benefits are endless.

The following are a selection of the park magic activities on offer:

Discover nature

·   Wetland wonders

Come along and look for the pond life on Gateway Island. Learn about the fascinating life-cycles of the aquatic life and how they adapt to seasonal changes.

·   Ugly bug safari

Join one of our guides to discover more about creepy crawlies and other insect life. Learn how to construct and use a pooter!!!

Go Bush

·   Ranger for a morning

What is it like to be a park ranger? Come along and join our ranger on a park patrol around Gateway Island. Don't forget to bring your rangers hat.

Experience Burraja

·   The search for the mythical Chuppa Chup

Come along and hunt for the mythical Chuppa Chup at Burraja as part of this archaeological dig.

· Nature's supermarket

Join one of the Discovery guides on a bushtucker discovery walk around the Gateway Island. Learn about plants that local Aboriginal tribes utilised, how it was collected and prepared.

· Nature's hardware shop

Learn how tools were made using natural materials.
