Volunteers Update
parklands has introduced a new and exciting rewards scheme to thank our dedicated and hard working volunteers for their extraordinary effort. Our volunteer rewards are designed to help encourage and acknowledge our dedicated volunteers who provide the continuous support that is much needed with parklands being a not-for-profit organisation. The reward program is taking its first leaps in recognising volunteers who have contributed 50 hours or more from March 2004. parklands has rewarded 19 volunteers with a colourful book and bookmark, and of these, six volunteers have received the parklands 100 hours cap and two volunteers have received the embroidered parklands 150 hours polo shirt. Volunteers with parklands are eligible to receive:
Volunteers have been working on a number of projects throughout our many parklands. To help inform volunteers of works that are happening in each of the parklands reserves, the Friends of parklands Calendar has been developed. Designed to let volunteers know what activities are happening on any given day, volunteers can decide what activities they would like to do on a day that suits them. All we ask is that you inform us of your availability one day before the activity is scheduled. Copies of the calendar are available from the parklands office. In addition to the calendar, parklands current volunteer jobs are also being promoted. These positions are designed for volunteers who want to take on a project, they allow volunteers to take on ownership of a task and really see the results of their labour. Volunteers are in constant demand for all of our ever changing works. You can volunteer as little or as much of your time as you like, volunteer a day, a couple of days or a week ... network and have fun! |
