Celebrating Business & Tourism Business Excellence on the Border 2006 - Excellence in Specialty Tourism - Certificate of Merit
At the CPA Australia Gala Awards Presentation Evening for the Celebrating Business and Tourism Business Excellence Awards on the Border for 2006, Parklands were awarded a Certificate of Merit in the category of Excellence in Specialty Tourism - sponsored by 105.7 The River. The category recognises excellence in Specialty Tourism in ecotourism, heritage & cultural, Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander tourism, meetings & business, adventure, tourism retailing, destination promotion, media, tourism education & training, tour & tourism transport operators, general tourism services. The Award was for Burraja Aboriginal Heritage and Environmental Discovery Centre which offers educational and general interest tours focusing on Aboriginal heritage, culture and the environment. Parklands also provides opportunities for people to access and experience the extraordinary range of natural and developed bush parks and recreational open space in and around Albury Wodonga. The regional parks embrace over 4,000 hectares of community owned land. The award was accepted by Ant Packer on behalf of the Board and Staff.
