Green Corps and the Murray River Red Gum Track
A new Green Corps team will be starting up in late March/early April. This team will be working on the Murray River Red Gum Track Project. The purpose of this project is to support the work of Parklands and its associated Friends of Parklands volunteer groups in developing walking tracks from the Upper Murray to Wodonga. Activities participants will engage in include installing fences and gates, installing safety barriers and signs, weed control, track maintenance, revegetation, heritage studies and participating in promotion of community awareness. As a Green Corps participant you will be paid for participation. You will also receive a uniform, accredited training and fantastic work experience. You do not need to be unemployed or receive income support to participate in Green Corps. Green Corps Participants
All Green Corps projects provide participants with training, including:
Accredited training is provided by a training officer with qualifications recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework. The participant allowance cannot be counted towards the income test for the Independent Rate of Youth Allowance.
