SUMMARY:Bushfire Recovery Working Bee along the High Country Rail Trail
DESCRIPTION:It is now safe to roll up the sleeves repairing and replacing some of the 35 km of fences along the rail trail that were damaged in the January 2026 bushfires. \n\n\nOver the next few weeks\, we plan to finish this work along the Koetong section so that the Shelley to Darbyshire Hill section can be re-opened by Easter. \nIt is essential that you register for this working bee no later than 24 hours beforehand so that we know you’re coming\, can contact you if things change\, and can provide the correct amount of tools. \n\nWhen: 8:00 am. \nWhere: Meet at the corner of Huon St. and Church St\, Wodonga. We will carpool from here. \nWhat is supplied: All tools and any specific safety equipment needed. \nWhat to bring: BYO drinking water and lunch. For your safety\, please wear covered shoes (preferably boots)\, long pants\, long sleeves\, and a hat. \nWho: You can contact Ant on 0427 926 282. \nPlease register here!  \n\nDonations towards getting the rail trail re-opened are most welcome as Parklands Albury Wodonga is currently self-funding these recovery efforts. SUMMARY:Whistle Stop High Tea 2026
DESCRIPTION:Back by popular demand is this gourmet bike ride on the High Country Rail Trail\, with spectacular views of Lake Hume and the hills beyond. \nThe ride is 24 km from Huon Reserve\, over the Sandy Creek Bridge\, along the shoreline of Lake Hume to Tallangatta and return. \nBike riders leave Huon Reserve\, off the Murray Valley Highway\, at 1:30 pm. Registration from 1 pm. \nA light lunch will be provided at Tallangatta with a traditional 1950’s style high tea served at the Sandy Creek Bridge on the return journey. \nTickets: Adult $40\, Child 12 – 16 years $10\, Children under 12 free\, Family group $80 (2 adults\, 2 children over 12). \nBookings WILL CLOSE Friday 15th May 4 pm to allow for event catering. \nBookings are essential!
