For your safety\, please wear covered shoes (preferably boots)\, long pants\, long sleeves\, and a hat. \nPlease register here! Sometimes things change at the last minute and we need to be able to contact volunteers. \nThank you to Albury City Council for financial support for this program.

This is a free event open to all ages. \nWhat to bring: Closed shoes and long pants as the ground is uneven and might be muddy.\n \nWhat will be provided: All tools\, equipment\, materials\, and gloves (unless you want to bring your own gloves). \nWhere: Paddock off Carrolls Lane\, Wodonga. Go past the Wodonga Railway Station for approximately 980 m following the signs and park in the paddock. See photo below. \nPlease book so we know to expect you!  Bookings here: Community Planting Morning | Humanitix \nAbout this event: After recently installing fencing to exclude stock from the wetland area\, the site is now ready for winter planting of native seedlings to revegetate this Murray River corridor. \nRed dot indicates approximate location. Those with special dietary requirements\, please BYO. \nPlease book so we know to expect you!\nBookings here: Banking on Trees Community Planting Morning 2024 | Humanitix \nAbout this event: Did you know that every time an account is opened at BankWAW\, they plant a tree? \nTrees create endless amounts of good. They clean the air we breathe\, filter the water we drink\, and provide habitat to over 80% of the world’s terrestrial biodiversity. \nPlanting a tree is also one of the easiest and cheapest ways to take carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere to tackle the climate crisis. It’s also the easiest way that we\, as individuals\, can reduce our own footprint. \nThrough BankWAW’s Banking on Trees program\, we’re revegetating the bushland of our local communities\, contributing to a better climate\, supporting biodiversity and creating better living conditions for our local communities. \nTurn onto Carrolls Lane from Melrose Drive/Maloney Drive and go past the railway station carpark for approximately 980m (red dot on map).

DESCRIPTION:Back by popular demand is this gourmet bike ride on the High Country Rail Trail\, with spectacular views of Lake Hume and the hills beyond. \nThe ride is 24 km from Huon Reserve\, over the Sandy Creek Bridge\, along the shoreline of Lake Hume to Tallangatta and return. \nBike riders leave Huon Reserve\, off the Murray Valley Highway\, at 1.30pm. You may be doing a flora survey\, removing redundant fences\, replacing barbed wire with wildlife friendly plain wire\, weeding\, checking nestboxes\, removing tree guards and more. No experience necessary. \nTake in the fresh air\, get close to nature and learn about the local environment and how Albury City and community groups are working to protect threatened species\, improve habitat and link habitat corridors across the region. \nWhen: 9.00 to 11.00am (2 hrs) \nWhere: Meet on Day Street Car Park\, near reserve. \nWhat is supplied: All tools and any specific safety equipment needed. \nWhat to bring: BYO drinking water.
