DESCRIPTION:In case you miss the Birding for Beginners and Avid Adventurers (on 19 June)\, there will be a longer 9 km walk with Parklands Albury Wodonga Rangers around Browns Island. This Murray River Island is located near Gateway Island between Albury and Wodonga. \nThe morning will feature a guided bushwalk around Browns Island to learn about the natural and cultural values of this hidden gem\, and the conservation actions underway. \nWith low water levels\, we will likely be able to walk across to the island through Wodonga Creek\, so you’ll need your gumboots! If you don’t have any\, Parklands can supply you with a pair. If river levels rise\, a Canadian canoe will be on hand to shuttle us across to the island. \nMorning tea will be provided. \nWhen: Friday 27 June\, 9 am to midday.\nWhere: Park off Bandiana Link\, Wodonga then walk 400 m to creek crossing site (see Browns Island walk map).\nWhat: Medium grade 9 km walk around Browns Island.\nWhat to bring: Please wear walking boots or enclosed shoes and carry gumboots for the creek crossing. Consider the weather and please wear a hat and bring a jacket if cool. Bring drinking water and snacks. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a morning of birdwatching at our hidden gem\, Browns Island. DESCRIPTION:Back by popular demand is this gourmet bike ride on the High Country Rail Trail\, with spectacular views of Lake Hume and the hills beyond. \nThe ride is 24 km from Huon Reserve\, over the Sandy Creek Bridge\, along the shoreline of Lake Hume to Tallangatta and return. \nBike riders leave Huon Reserve\, off the Murray Valley Highway\, at 1.30pm. Registration from 1pm. \nTraditional 1950’s style high tea served at Sandy Creek Bridge and Tallangatta. \nTickets: Adult $35\, Child $10 (12- 18 years\, children under 12 free)\, Family group $70 (2 adults\, 2 children over 12). \nBookings WILL CLOSE Wednesday 14th May to allow for event catering. \nBookings are essential!
