SUMMARY:River Stewardship Mornings on Turtle Island
DESCRIPTION:Join Parklands Rangers to help us improve the habitat of Turtle Island by removing the monoculture of box elder woody weeds as part of our ‘Restoring Roosting Refuges’ project. \nNo experience is necessary as Rangers will guide you in plant identification and removal techniques. A great opportunity to explore the 20 hectares of Turtle Island and learn about the Murray River and bush restoration techniques! \nParklands is happy to tailor dates and times to accommodate small groups keen to participate. \nPlease note: You will be required to paddle in a canoe a short distance across the Murray River to reach Turtle Island. \nWhen: 8 am to 10 am. \nWhere: Meet at the Doctors Point boat ramp. \nWhat is supplied: All tools and any specific equipment and PPE needed. \nWhat to bring: BYO drinking water. Otherwise\, park at Bullioh Streamside Reserve car park (see below) for the ribbon-cutting and morning tea at 10 am. Bookings are not required. \n \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \nThis priority community project was made possible with thanks to financial assistance from the Australian Government (Black Summer Bushfire Recovery Program) and Towong Shire Council.
