Parklands Albury Wodonga is delighted to announce that permits to formalise trails at Hunchback Hill Mountain Bike Park have been approved.
Thank you to all those who provided feedback on McFarlanes Hill trails through our 2021 survey and onsite discussions. Your input has been invaluable to the planning process.
With planning complete and permits approved, work is scheduled on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of the winter months to deliver much needed environmental restoration and trail improvements.
A big thanks to the many volunteers who whipper-snipped and cleaned up at the mountain bike park on Sunday morning. This is the beginning of a host of works planned.
Parklands invite community members to join us for a morning, or a series of mornings, to install wayfinding signs, remove redundant fences, remove barbed wire from all but the boundary fences, plant climate adapted seedlings, improve drainage along the Granite walking trail, rehabilitate closed trails and remove redundant boardwalks.
We'll also be running community events to help people explore the park, with a Habitat Walk led by Sue Brunskill scheduled for this Saturday. Find out more and register for the walk here.
A contractor is scheduled to construct the mountain bike track realignments.
If you are keen to be involved but are only available on weekends, please contact us as we are happy to work in around people’s availability. Contact us via Facebook or email email@example.com
Thank you to the Australian Government for their financial support through the Black Summer Bushfire Recovery program.
