Join Brendon Kennedy for this holiday program exploring Landcare and Culture on the Murray River Islands. Learn how to make a digging stick and a coolamon, how to find bushtucker and other uses for native plants. Come and have a go at spear throwing and traditional games beside the river.
Brendon is a cultural tour guide, traditional land manager and craftsman. He was Victoria’s first Aboriginal Landcare Officer and has extensive experience in local bush crafts and interpreting country for community members.
Meet at the Waterworks Reserve, Island Road, Bonegilla (accessed off Riverina Highway, Albury then across Murray River to Victoria), at the picnic area to the left after crossing the Murray River bridge.
Please be Sunsmart, bring a hat and drinking water and wear closed shoes - we will be walking in the bush.
