The new footbridge over Tallangatta Creek along the High Country Rail Trail is now complete and ready for its official opening!
This footbridge vastly improves the visitor experience to users of the rail trail as detours onto the Murray Valley Highway are no longer needed, hooray! Riders, walkers, and marathon runners can now enjoy a safe and continuous journey along the entire rail trail between Wodonga and Shelley.
The new bridge replaces the old trestle bridge that was washed away in the 2010 floods and has been designed to allow for any future flood debris to flow freely underneath.
We would like to invite the community to come along and be a part of the ribbon-cutting on Wed 19 March at 10 am. Please click through to the event page for all the information.
This priority community project was made possible with thanks to financial assistance from the Australian Government (Black Summer Bushfire Recovery Program) and the Towong Shire Council.
