The ‘Friends of Nail Can Hill’ group got their Winter 2025 Weeding Sessions off to a great start on Sunday 1 June with a truck load of watsonia bulbs, ivy, succulents, yukka, and other invasive weeds removed from along the Roper Street nature trail area.
Parklands Albury Wodonga has been auspice for this Friends Group since 2014, and during the past decade, these weeding sessions have prevented all manner of garden escapee weeds spreading out of control into this very special, high conservation value bushland.
This small but active group not only work to enhance the native flora and fauna biodiversity of Nail Can Hill, but also hold guided community walks focusing on the different plants and animals that can be found along the many tracks and trails.
If you’d like to lend a hand removing weeds, regular working bees are held on Thursday afternoons starting 5 June, so keep an eye on the group’s Facebook Page for details!
