enAbling Bush Restoration

Since 2006, the Murray Valley Centre’s day activities program has brought a volunteer team into the bush parks we manage every Monday morning.

Parklands has such a range of parks, projects and activities, that there is always plenty of work for the differing abilities of the Murray Valley Centre team. Some of the many achievements over nearly a decade include removal of tree guards from revegetation sites across the region, tree planting, woody weed removal, clearing timber and rocks along firebreaks, oiling of boardwalks and park furniture and clearing storm debris from walking tracks.

Thank you to the Rotary Foundation of Albury for their sponsorship of this volunteer program when it was in it’s pilot stage.

The Murray Valley Centre’s social enterprise arm, the Church St Workshop has benefited too. Parklands purchase thousands of hardwood tree stakes each winter for our various revegetation projects.  These are fabricated by Murray Valley Centre clients.  This income supports the work of this not-for-profit disAbility support organisation which coordinates activities for over 450 clients each week.
