The Hume and Hovell Walking Track is in Wiradjuri Country, and one of the areas of special significance to Wiradjuri people, and people of other Aboriginal nations, is the gathering place of Mungabareena.

In early 2017, we interviewed Elder Nancy Rooke and her granddaughter Leonie McIntosh on country at Mungabareena Reserve about the importance of this place and their experiences living in Albury.

This is their story.

Parklands gratefully acknowledge the support of the NSW Government, through the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage and the Heritage Council NSW, to make these Hume and Hovell Track stories.
