Building Wildlife Corridors at Waterworks Regional Park

Building Wildlife Corridors at Waterworks Regional Park

With the much-appreciated assistance from Harry, Amy, and Caitlin, the popular Waterworks Regional Park is being expanded with a river riparian corridor recently fenced.

This fencing is in preparation for planting to establish a wildlife habitat connection between Waterworks and Ryans Creek. The corridor will increase available habitat for threatened species such as squirrel gliders and barking owls. It will also enable native animals to move between areas of natural habitat which increases their ability to adapt to a changing climate.

Uncle Al from Duduroa Dhargal Aboriginal Corporation will lead a walk to this Bupa and Landcare Australia sponsored planting site on Sunday 31 August 2025.  Come and view this landscape through a cultural lens then get your hands dirty helping plant this river corridor! You can find all the information about this event and the link to register here.

This project is financially supported by Bupa and Landcare Australia’s Healthy Cities Program.
