Parklands Albury Wodonga is excited to announce that funding has been secured to revegetate one of the last remaining gaps in Project 66 – the 66 km conservation corridor along the Murray River between Lake Hume and West Wodonga.

This funding is provided by the QBE Foundation’s local grants program and will help us to extend Waterworks Regional Park which is a popular spot for fishing, walking, canoeing, and picnicking. A 1.5 km stock exclusion fence will enable us to establish a wildlife corridor and we will restore the natural waterway and nearby wetland by planting climate-adapted seedlings.

Local Traditional Owners from Duduroa Dhargal Aboriginal Corporation will be involved in planning and community engagement, Wodonga Mens Shed will assist in fencing and the manufacture of boardwalks, with Evolve Disability Services employees to help with boardwalk installation. The wider community including University, TAFE, and school students will also have opportunities to be a part of this project through stewardship days, infrastructure installation, and planting.
