A big thank you to our neighbour on Bears Hill for enabling vehicle access on this very steep terrain. This has enabled us to deliver our fencing materials and equipment right to where they are needed to replace boundary fences destroyed by the January 2020 bushfire.

It has been a painstakingly slow process removing these boundary fences. They have been patched and repaired repeatedly over decades and contain all manner of old wire and posts.  The process has been all the more slow as we have ceased our volunteer stewardship programs as part of our COVID-19 prevention measures.  What would have been a half day job with a team of people will take days for a single Ranger.

The lack of rain since the bushfires have seen the previously good quality grassland areas overtaken by Patersons Curse.  As Bears Hill is so steep, our Ranger is getting an excellent gym workout carting backpacks of spray up and down the very steep gully system.
