Community Farm rangers Rohit Khulal and Tilak Chhetri were thrilled to be amongst local community organisations receiving positive news at the Border Trust’s Big Give last week. The Community Farm has been awarded a Scanlon Foundation grant which will enable the implementation of Stage Two of the Community Farm Plan.

The project grant will support community working bees delivering long held goals such as expanding the range of vegetables produced, building garden shelters and a bush kitchen and delivering ‘paddock to plate’ events for the local community.

Importantly, the funds enable farm rangers to to work ‘on the business’ rather than just ‘in the business’. Rangers will continue building new partnerships and engaging local people of diverse cultural backgrounds and ages in this community building social enterprise.

Parklands Albury Wodonga gratefully acknowledges the assistance of The Scanlon Foundation and Border Trust for their valuable contribution to this project.
