Exploring our local parks has been a real mental health boost for young people in these pandemic times.

Our new series of videos captures a few locals out on their bush reconnoitres and explores the connections they have made in the past year with the bush reserves of West Wodonga, Baranduda Range and Ryan’s Lagoon wetlands.

These short films introduce some of the ways young people are enjoying nature on their own terms, what they’ve found, what they love and how being in nature has made a difference this past year.

Including ecologists presenting some of the treasures of the parks, the videos invite us all to step away from our screens and the stresses of study and get involved in protecting our bush parks and caring for our local threatened species.

View the series of videos via the dedicated Bush Park Explorers playlist on the Parklands Albury-Wodonga YouTube channel.

Our sincere thanks to the young people who gave their time and shared their experiences with us to create these videos. You’ve lifted our spirits and whet our appetites to get back out there running hands-on Walk ‘n Talks and other community events again.

This project has been supported with funding from the Australian Government’s Agricultural Competetiveness White Paper, the government’s plan for stronger farmers and a stronger economy.
