Parklands Albury Wodonga is seeking expressions of interest from community members and stakeholders to steer the development of the River Red Gum Trail on the Murray river between Wodonga and Lake Hume.

The River Red Gum Trail will constitute a local component of Murray Regional Tourism’s visionary Murray River Adventure Trail, a long-distance nature-based trail offering walking, cycling and water-based adventure along the Murray River, all the way from Lake Hume to Mildura.

The River Red Gum Trail will extend the well loved Wagirra and Gateway Island trails to Lake Hume. It will form the upper section of the Murray River Adventure Trail, utilising waterfront crown reserves to showcase the riverine landscape and provide public access to the Murray river for a range of day use recreational activities.

Parklands is seeking community champions who are keen to see this exciting project become a reality. By joining the project Steering Group, you will be able to contribute to all aspects from planning and communications to technical considerations and management as the trail evolves. We seek individuals and parties with a variety of perspectives and a range of skills.

Attached below are reference documents expanding on the role of the project Steering Group. If you would like to find out more, a meeting and tour of sites will be held on Monday 2nd May, 9am. Please rsvp to Ant Packer at info@parklands-alburywodonga.org.au to attend.

To register your EOI in contributing to the Steering Group, please submit using this online form.

Alternatively, please fill out the attached document and return to us.

Parklands Albury Wodonga acknowledges the support of the Victorian Government and the Ross Trust for this program.
