A joint initiative between Parklands Albury Wodonga and Albury City Council, the Park Stewardship program gives community members the opportunity to volunteer in various environmental lands around Albury. You can come along and be guided by our Rangers on invasive weed identification and removal, helping to improve and maintain our local natural areas.

The next of these events is at Urana Road on 29 March from 9am – 11am. Follow the link here to see the event details and to register.

These volunteer mornings have a real impact on the environment, resulting in positive change for local biodiversity by removing both non-native and non-endemic species of plants. Not only will you get the chance to learn about strategies to maintain these areas, but you will also learn about the entire ecosystem and how AlburyCity and other community groups are working towards threatened species conservation, and the importance of linking habitat corridors to ensure species have the ability to disperse between isolated patches of bush.

You need don’t any prior experience or tools; our Rangers will provide all the information and equipment you need. You’ll just need to ensure you have appropriate clothing such as long pants, a long-sleeve shirt, a hat, and closed footwear, as well as some water. So come along, get out in nature, meet some new people, and learn about the management of our local bush.

Thanks to Albury City Council for the financial support for this program.
