Following the 2019/20 summer bushfires, unstable and damaged trees present a clear risk to those working on the ground.
The Victorian Government has produced a pictorial guide to the identification and management of hazardous trees.
The guide indicates clearly the features of hazardous trees of different severity, and explains the safety precautions required and recommended management actions. While the emphasis is on fire damaged trees, the advice is relevant to all who work outdoors in bush parks and reserves.
The Guide is available for download from the Emergency Management Victoria site here.
