Students Jaxon Williams and David Runciman of Wodonga Senior Secondary College recently put the finishing touches to their Impact Project, with the result a tranquil resting spot on the beautiful Kiewa River.

When the students sought out Parklands for a project opportunity, ranger Danny Jones thought immediately of his favourite spot along the Kiewa. Reproducing a design created by a previous WSSC senior student, Jaxon and David hand made and installed a hardwood park bench on the river bank.

The work included preparing the site with a brushcutter and digging holes to concrete the bench in. Both the new bench and one installed by a previous student project were varnished.

Parklands appreciate the opportunity to work with these dedicated students and commend the new bench to the walkers and fishers of the Kiewa River Parklands. Thanks David and Jaxon!
