Parks Victoria and the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) have notified Parklands of their intention to carry out a fuel reduction burn along the High Country Rail Trail.

The burn will affect 3km of the Rail Trail adjoining Koetong-Darbyshire Creek near Mt Lawson State Park. Philby Lane will mark the eastern end of the burn.

Burning is expected within the next four weeks, depending on weather conditions.

Once burning begins, the track will be closed for at least 2 days. Closed sections will be clearly marked and we expect to be able to post updates when the burn is imminent.

Walkers and cyclists are advised to watch for updates and under no circumstances attempt to use this section of the Rail Trail during the burn.
