Nothing beats a bit of excitment in school holidays, and Parkland’s Night Walks in the last week have really come up with the goods.

Well over 80 people of all ages have attended 3 spotlighting walks in our local bush parks, thrilled to spot a range of arboreal mammals from the more common Brushtail possums to smaller Ringtail possums and even a couple of gliders.

Rugged up for the cold nights and sporting torches of all types, participants walked with ranger Danny Jones on spotlight, searching the trees for nocturnally active birds and animals. Spotting Squirrel gliders out and about foraging is a rare occurance and participants were excited by the find on Gateway Island.

The final night at Jindera was capped off with a fire to stand around and chat – the perfect end to a wintry night walk.
