The generous donation of an old work van by Mars Petcare has opened up possibilities for the Growing Community garden on Gateway Island.

The three ton tray van  – ‘Winston’ – will be retro-fitted in the Parklands workshop to suit it’s new career as a market garden carry-all.

Staff are excited by the possibilities and are discussing all of the jobs Winston might assist with before designing the retro-fit.

Many thanks to Mars Petcare for this huge boost to the potential of our production and marketing of the Growing Community market garden produce. The paw prints will be retained as a reminder of Winston’s origins!
