Thanks to the skills of stonemason Bryan Winnett, the iconic lookout at wind swept Huon Hill now offers a place you can shelter from the icy winter winds whilst taking in the magnificent views.

Bryan has turned a pile of rocks into a beautifully crafted rock shelter where picnickers can sit and enjoy the outlook. Now we can be blown away by the views without being blown away by the wind!

Parklands Albury Wodonga had hoped to be able to offer volunteers the opportunity to learn traditional dry stone walling skills through this project.  However, the current Covid19 outbreak across Albury Wodonga has meant that Bryan has worked by himself.

This project is supported by the Victorian Government. Our thanks to Bushfire Recovery Victoria for the grant that is funding this rock work as well as upgrades to the trail that provides access to the lookout, using recycled concrete.
