If you head up to the Swainsona reserve this month you will be able to see the beautiful flowers of the endangered swainsona galegifolia, also known as Smooth Darling pea or Cranky pea.

These plants are one of only two remnant populations of Smooth Darling Pea in north east Victoria, both found nearby in the Indigo Creek and Felltimber Creek catchments. The Felltimber remnant is now protected within the Swainsona Reserve, where Parklands works in partnership with the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (Vic) on a species recovery program for the Pea.

Many thanks to the Friends of Felltimber Creek for maintaining the area, and spotting these beauties at the perfect time!
