Parklands school holiday programs proved popular in the winter school break, with more than 170 people booking in for Ranger led spotlighting events.

Spotlighting evenings were held at Gateway Island, Baranduda, Glenellen and Jindera, attracting families from throughout the region. The events aim to open people’s eyes to the native wildlife living amongst us, and highlight their habitat needs.

Participants were not disappointed, spotting a range of native creatures of the night including a glider, many Ringtail and Brushtail possums, a variety of roosting birds, owls and Tawny Frogmouths.

Spotlighting events resume in spring, with an evening on Gateway Island on October 3rd (see our event listing).
