A big thank you to Steve Mulcahy’s Earthmoving team for the removal of woody weeds on Middle Creek last week.

Having the rail trail closed for five days while the RMR team were beavering away on the footbridge created an excellent opportunity for willow removal along 1km of Middle Creek from Whytes Road through to the Kiewa River.

This work is part of a much larger willow removal project supported by the Wodonga Urban Landcare Network through funding from the Australian Government’s Murray–Darling Healthy Rivers Program. Our thanks to WULN for including the Rail Trail corridor in the project.

Parklands look forward to involving community in planting out the remainder of this corridor this winter.

Meanwhile, please be aware that the rain over the past week, combined with heavy equipment along the flood impacted rail trail, has left a bit of water and mud for trail users to traverse. Thank you for your patience while this dries out over the coming weeks.
