This year Parklands Volunteer Program is mixing it up to give people a taste of different environmental stewardship tasks. Deviating from the usual program block, people can now sign up for individual dates, choosing between different parks and activities.

Working in a different park each week, the program aims to provide invaluable experience for those interested in, or studying for, an environmental career.  Parklands Rangers will take participants through a variety of practical park maintenance/improvement tasks like planting, weeding and removing tree guards.

At the same time, participants will learn about the local environment and how our local land managers and community groups are working to protect threatened species, improve habitat and link habitat corridors across the region.

Situated in parks and reserves from the urban waterways of Albury and Wodonga to the wild and woolly hill and river bushlands, the program will run for 2 hours on Fridays, commencing Feb 15th.

Whether you are studying or just looking for an opportunity to clear your head and get some exercise, this is a great way to get outdoors, learn some practical skills and give back to the community in the process.

Led by experienced field Rangers, all tools and any specific safety equipment needed are supplied.

For further information please email info@parklands-alburywodonga.org.au or see our Events listings for registration links to each date in the program.
