Last sunday’s Murray River Cleanup Paddle saw 18 people in big Canadian canoes bagging rubbish from the river.

Concentrating on the area between the Waterworks and Norieul Park and the islands along the way, participants pulled a uteload of rubbish from the water and along the banks. After sorting, about 1/2 a wheelie bin of recycling was recovered, with the remainder unfortunately going to landfill.

A big thanks to the Murray Canoe Guy for his generous support of this event once again, and thanks to everyone who helped out!

Parklands also provided bags to the Browns Lagoon community cleanup event, which netted 2 wheelie bins full of recycling. The morning was led by a group of local residents keen to set up a Freinds of Browns Lagoon group.
