This week Parklands received 10 new park benches crafted to order by the Wodonga Men’s Shed.

These terrific bench and table assemblies will replace old and vandalised furniture and create new recreational places in reserves across the region. The Kiewa River at Killara, Rail Trail shelters and Bhutanese Community Farm will be the first to benefit from the new furniture.

Parklands is pleased to be able to share the contract elements of our funded projects with this fantastic organisation. We recognise the benefits that jobs such as this bring to the Men’s Shed volunteers, and are happy to be able to contribute in this way. We also recognise that the application of so many experienced minds to the problems we have with vandalism of park furniture has definitely resulted in a superior model!

Thank you to all concerned.
